Wheel Catcher made from SMC

We achieved a truly sensational weight saving with the wheel catcher. A small part with a big effect – because in the event of a frontal impact, the wheel catcher protects the legs from the crushing force of the tire. This part became a good 50% lighter since being made of glass fiber reinforced plastic instead of steel. The low-density product consists of fleece, cork and glass fiber.
